How to make a slowed and reverb song
Updated November 2, 2026
You can make a slowed and reverb song in about a minute without installing anything. Here's how to do it with Slowervibe, plus the tips that separate a muddy remix from a good one.

What you need
- The song as an audio file: MP3, WAV, M4A and most other common formats work.
- A web browser on a computer or phone. There's nothing to install and no account to make.
Step by step
- Open Slowervibe and load your song. Click Choose a song or drag the file onto the waveform. It loads on your device and isn't uploaded anywhere.
- Start with a preset. Click Classic (85% speed, medium reverb) and press play. This is the sound most people recognize from slowed + reverb uploads.
- Set the speed. Drag the Speed slider while it plays. 80–85% is the sweet spot for most songs. Going lower makes it heavier and sleepier; above 90% is a lighter touch.
- Shape the reverb. Reverb amount sets how loud the echo is. Room size sets how long it rings out. Raise both for a dreamy, far-away sound.
- Soften the highs (optional). The Muffle slider rolls off the treble, which hides harsh vocals and hi-hats and makes the track feel like it's coming through a wall.
- Download it. Click Download audio to save a full-quality WAV file. To post it, use Make a video to get a clip with a visualizer for TikTok, Reels, Shorts or YouTube.
Tips for a better slowed + reverb
- Don't overdo the reverb on busy songs. Fast rap verses and dense mixes get muddy quickly. Keep the reverb amount under about 40% and use a smaller room.
- Slower songs can take more. Ballads, R&B and ambient tracks sound great with big rooms and 50–70% reverb.
- Listen on headphones and a phone speaker. Reverb that sounds lush on headphones can turn to mush on small speakers.
- Use Muffle for harsh vocals. If high notes sound piercing once slowed, add 20–40% Muffle.
- For videos, pick the best part. Click the waveform where the hook starts before making a 15- or 30-second clip.
Why does slowing a song make it deeper?
Slowervibe slows the song the same way a record or tape played slower does: the speed and the pitch drop together. At 85% speed the song sits about 3 semitones lower. That deeper, heavier tone is a big part of what makes slowed + reverb feel the way it does. If you want to read about where the sound came from, see what is slowed + reverb?
A note on copyright
A slowed version of a song is still the original artist's work. If you post it, credit the artist, and expect platforms like TikTok and YouTube to sometimes claim or mute it.
